The lovely ford at the gates to the disused Ilston quarry is very picturesque whatever the season. In summer the sun peeping through the trees colour dapples the browny river in a kaleidoscope of colours from deep jeweled blues to sparkling golds.
In this painting I have tried to catch some of these colours as well as the violent rush of water down the ford, after the floods of November through to January had swollen the river and dramatically increased the velocity of it's crashing flow.
I loved the effect of the water teaming around the corner too and onto the rocks and stones, their colours almost combining in the crashing.
I loved the violent movement in contrast to the country peacefulness of the rest of this rustic scene. These signed and numbered limited edition prints (of either 100 or 150 editions) are printed on professional quality Satin Photo Paper - 280gsm -printed on a professional Canon Pro-100 series printer.
